However, that is road based, whereas the second half of my commute is through boggy mud, so I'm still hopeful. A few weeks of speed work before the proper training plan kicks in.

Running
8 miles cross country today. 1 hour 20. Utter horror of leaving the house at 7.15 in the morning when it's still dark, and then running away from the sunrise all the way to the office.
So that's 6 miles an hour for 80 minutes. Unfortunately, that's 4 hours 21 to complete the marathon. So need to pick up the pace a bit: by 25%, to be exact.
