A head full of cotton wool

I woke up feeling awful today: like I'd been run over by a truck. All I remember is eating half a glass of wine and drinking a pizza. Yet all day I struggled to bring myself up to speed, like a zombified analytics specialist with cotton wool for braaaains. Lucky I didn't have any job interviews today.

Oops.
It was interesting trying to think straight, but I wouldn't recommend doing it too often. Particularly not in the company of other people.

After that, I spent the rest of the day peering at things, thinking about stuff and telling people what to do.

Specifics. That's what I thrive on.

This evening, I picked up In The Loop at HMV. I'd never managed to get round to watching In The Thick Of It so although I had a feeling it would be rather sweary, but I'm amazed at how much filth there is. And that it's got Steve Coogan shouting about "a fooking watering can" and James Gandolfini, although the latter doesn't get to shout abuse involving irrigation equipment.

Being British, it's demoralising to see how scruffy England is in comparison to the US, and how all the American politicos are clean and tidy and young, whereas all the Brits are scruffy, old and irascible. But they do seem to be better at swearing. Although perhaps I'm being jingoistic about the mother country's prowess at obscenity.
