Cats and spirits
This evening we went to the bar over the road from the office, and I drank an awful lot of strong liquor. Most of it was gin, in different and ever-more-complex combinations, diluted only by beer and deep-fried balls of cheese. This is Monday, and it's ending one second at a time.

Cat Power
This particular woman was standing on the roof of the hawker centre. There's a basketball court up there and a lot of air vents, and the woman. She was waving her arms around. I suppose if I'd hung around at the window long enough, she might have started slapping herself.
Sat at her feet, with a look of bored resignation visible even from several hundred feet away, was a white and ginger cat. The woman waved her arms and looked at the cat, then waved her arms again. I wondered if it was her cat, or just a feline that was wandering past and had decided to sit and watch her.

That worrying feline
I stayed up much too late last night. Instead of going to sleep at midnight like a sensible person, I watched the weekend's motorcycle racing from Spain for two hours, and then had a video call with a friend from Folkestone. Technology is wonderful, but it doesn't substitute for sleep.
Mind you, I don't think I could have slept earlier anyway. Because it's a public holiday today, and because the flat I'm borrowing is just above one of Soho's busy streets, there was a constant roar of males braying at one another until late into the small hours. Staying up and watching a couple of pint size Spaniards embarass the rest of the grid for an hour was actually the sensible option.

Lazy Sunday
Today the cat woke me up early, by sitting on my chest and purring at me until I was roused from my slumbers. However, a feline alarm clock isn't such a wonderful thing, because once I'd shuffled various body parts around and rolled over, the cat got up and wandered off, and I fell back to sleep for another three hours.
