333!
Pathetic though it is to boast about it, I'm going to have to point out that I just scored 333 in a game of Scrabble, trouncing my wife's respectable 250-something. I refrained from dancing round the room going "Hah! How you like me now!" and throwing scrabble tiles at her while barking like a pig.

Quiet Tuesday
A quiet Tuesday night in Hong Kong; after an uneventful and marginally disappointing day at the office, which threatened but never delivered anything productive, I went home to carry some cat paraphernalia down stairs.

Hungover
Inexplicably hungover from half a glass of red wine, today was a struggle for me. Even after cramming fried food into my mouth at The Flying Pan in Wan Chai, and then looking for the World's Perfect Laptop Bag, I felt like death.

Up and down in Hong Kong
This evening we had to go to a friend's flat to feed her cats. This was nice, because it meant we had cats to play with, docile, plump cats that peer at us with curiousity but don't run up and down curtains wailing, like our kitten-sized houseguest from a week ago.
However, it did mean walking down the 12 floors from our apartment, which isn't so bad until you remember we'll have to walk back up 12 floors before we go to bed tonight. Into each life some pain must fall.

More Than The 39 Steps
The lift is being replaced in our building. It's needed replacing for some time, what with random breakdowns, the doors stuttering open and closed, the general wheeziness it brings to our living situation. Because it's the only lift in a 15-storey building it's had a lot of work to do. Because we're on the twelvth floor of a building with only one lift, we're going to have a lot of walking to do for the next three months. I begin to question whether paying half rent is such a good deal after all.
