Boat Trip
Today we went for a ride on Fiddler's Green IV, our friend's boat, off to the Northern Arm of Halifax to look at rich people's houses on the waterfront. It must be a hard life being uber-rich; you spend all that time acquiring a fortune, then spending it on a beautiful house on the waterfront, and then some idiot with slightly more money than you builds an enormous eyesore slap bang next to your house and ruins your view.

Something in the water?
Walking down Queen's Road today, I saw two western tourists laughing at New World Tower. I was surprised because it's not a particularly hilarious example of architecture. Curious as to whether they were just highly amused by the waterfall next to the escalator, I glanced in as I walked by.
There was a member of staff with a super soaker, spraying the waterfall.

Junks

Junk; detritus, garbage, trash, useless objects littering our lives. Not the most positive name for a boat to bear. However, everyone in Hong Kong appears to view a junk trip as the pinnacle of excitement and joy. I'm unconvinced; I like the odd drink, but to be stuck on a floating platform of occasionally questionable seaworthiness, for eight hours without possibility of an early escape, with a gang of assorted alcoholics, exhibitionists, alcoholics, people who think diving into diesel-fouled water is 'fun' and alcoholics, isn't really my thing.

Losing again
Something terrible has happened. It's so sad that I'm finding it hard to carry on, not just with this blog entry, but with all of existence.
