Avocado and doughnuts
Today we went hunting for doughnuts. Across the road from our hotel is an enormous mall, flowing over most of a city block, and somewhere within it is a branch of J.CO, an Indonesian doughnut franchise.

Halfheads
I was struggling today with the aftermath of the night out in Bangkok; various minor examples of idiocy in the hotel room, like getting my legs stuck in my trousers and falling over, failing to understand how the shower worked, and forgetting how to put clothes into my suitcase. It's a minor miracle I didn't manage to fall out the window/catch fire/ring up the front desk of the hotel and scream random obscenities down the phone.

More doughnuts, cats, cars
We left the city of Dartmouth and headed out into the wintry wilds again, driving through the fog into the middle of nowhere. As we ploughed on, strange signs wafted up from the whiteness: grapes, golfers, and then at last, the sacred service station, with its promise of sweet, sweet gasoline and delicious fried foods.

Christmas, dogs and such
Yesterday evening we drove out to my fiancee's aunt's place, which comes with seven large dogs, one Alsatian puppy that's already the size of a medium-sized dog, and twelve cats.
