Too Much Of A Good Thing

Squashed!
Brunch is, as I may have said before, not a proper meal. Nobody is given advice that they should brunch like a prince regent, dine like a pauper. But despite this, people continue to believe that they should eat brunch.

Lan Kwai Fong

Lan Kwai Fong was almost deserted tonight, with only a few hundred drunken revellers. This may be because California Tower is being renovated, which means Lux (home of bizarre looking transvestites) and all the other bars in it are no longer there.

Or perhaps being drunk has just gone out of fashion. Some hope.

Bowling

Today I went bowling in an apartment complex in Sai Wan Ho, while watching The Big Lebowski. The last time I went bowling must have been about three years ago, in Lewisham with my great chum Jenny. Junks

Junk; detritus, garbage, trash, useless objects littering our lives. Not the most positive name for a boat to bear. However, everyone in Hong Kong appears to view a junk trip as the pinnacle of excitement and joy. I'm unconvinced; I like the odd drink, but to be stuck on a floating platform of occasionally questionable seaworthiness, for eight hours without possibility of an early escape, with a gang of assorted alcoholics, exhibitionists, alcoholics, people who think diving into diesel-fouled water is 'fun' and alcoholics, isn't really my thing.

I was going to say a well-dressed cockroach, but I didn't realise until 5pm that I had neglected to do up my flies. Say what you like about cockroaches, you don't see them risk inadvertently exposing themselves.

Tidy up please

Today we took the tram to Wimbledon to see an old friend from Expedia.  Beforehand I met up with a college chum, Hugh, to talk about philosophy, denounce Wittgenstein for being (a) somewhat affected, (b) socially regressive when it comes to persuading university students to take up manual labour and (c) the scourge of honest, if inaccurate builders.
