Mistaken Identity

It was demoralising today that once again, somebody mistook me for another nationality. I've had security guards thinking I'm French, random guys on trains assuming I'm Dutch, and ladies of the night in Kuala Lumpur accusing me of being Australian.

Streetfighting Man

As I ran up New Bridge Road this morning, I saw two men fighting outside one of the KTV joints.

If you haven't been to this side of the world, you might not have heard of KTV; it is an abbreviation for Karaoke Television, and depending on what country you're in that either means it's a karaoke joint, or (on New Bridge Road in Singapore) it's a place with blacked out windows that has some dodgy hostesses hanging out on the street. Rather in the same vein as the places with individually priced ladies I saw when I was waiting for my bus.

Sweet Dreams

I had a very exciting dream this morning. I'm not the sort of person to bore you with the minutae of my life, so suffice it to say it was incredibly exciting.

Also, I woke up thinking "golly, what an exciting dream."

Because upon waking, I assume the persona of a twelve-year-old schoolboy from the 1950s.

No, really.

Being a real man

Today I got to use some tools, and smash things, thus securing my status as a real man. I suppose really I should have had a steak and chips, and then shouted at a televised football match, but I didn't want to rush things. You don't want to go committing yourself to a surfeit of manliness on Monday. Otherwise, what will you have left to look forward to for the rest of the week?
